James W. Lamson has over 30 years of insurance industry experience, both in consulting and in actuarial capacities with insurance companies.  Set forth below is an outline of the experience and educational aspects of his background.

Education

- Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics - University of Nebraska at Omaha, 1973

- Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, 1978

- Member of the American Academy of Actuaries since 1979

- Chartered Life Underwriter, 1986

Experience

- Founder and President, 1987-present, Actuarial Resources Corporation, a Kansas City area business employing approximately 30 actuaries and programmers. Actuarial Resources sells and maintains the ARCVAL valuation and financial projection system for insurance products throughout the United States and is in the final stages of acquiring the Prophet actuarial projection system.

- Consultant, Tillinghast/TPF&C, 1984-1987

- Management and other positions in insurance company actuarial departments from 1973 to 1984

Professional Involvement

- Vice Chair of the Variable Annuity Reserve Work Group of the American Academy of Actuaries. Member of the Life Valuation Subcommittee and member of various prior work groups including those covering Actuarial Guideline 33, Actuarial Guideline 39 and Actuarial Standard of Practice 38.

- Speaker at numerous Society of Actuaries Meetings and Valuation Actuary Symposiums.
